When you find yourself on contract in a new city, you always feel a bit lost and, quite frequently, hungry. Take a look at the quick tips I’ve put together below, which can help cut your search down to a mere five minutes.
Ask the Front Desk Attendant
Don’t be shy. I know this seems like a dead giveaway, but with technology ever-present and always within our reach, sometimes we forget to interact with human beings. Asking the front desk means you’re going to get a much more personal opinion and, chances are, it will come with simple directions. Also, front desk attendants frequently have coupons for the nearby eateries.
Urban Spoon
This smartphone app is a personal favorite of mine. But don’t think I’m biased! This app comes with a four-star rating and at no cost to the subscriber. Set your proximity preference, cuisine selection, and even price range. Then give your phone a shake to see what Urban Spoon suggests. Don’t like the first result? Shake your phone again and Urban Spoon will continue to provide you with different options.
LocalEats
Are you tired of eating at the same chain restaurant in every city? Or do you just need a break from the routine? Check out LocalEats. For 99 cents, you’ll find yourself enjoying a 4.5-star app that’ll take you to the nearest mom-and-pop restaurant to satisfy your appetite with a local treat you’ll find only there.
If you have any tips of your own, please add them below in the comments section of this post! Also, if you have any trouble areas in your contracting life, email me at Ashley@healthcareis.com and I’ll do my best to offer my advice or research a solution for you!
