**Where Will Health IT Be 1 Year From Now? CIO Make Their Predictions.**

 

An August 2020  [Beckers article ](https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/healthcare-information-technology/health-it-one-year-from-today-8-cio-predictions.html?utm_medium=email)shared great insights regarding how leaders see the marketplace in summer 2021.

 

Here are a few of those insights:

 

1. Significant resources will be dedicated to improving support services for a remote workforce that isn't returning to on-premise work activity post-pandemic.

 

1. App developers will be fully ramped up with offerings to help patients manage their chronic diseases.

 

1. Healthcare will finally meet patients where they are.

 

1. Due to the need to track COVID-19 patients, population-health-outcomes tracking will be expanded significantly.

 

1. If they weren’t before, IT departments will likely be viewed as strategic partners within their organizations.

 

1. IT will be expected to be more nimble and agile.

 

1. Increased numbers of IT staff will work permanently from home or from remote settings.
